27 Weeks

Yep, 27 weeks already... and I'm pretty sure it shows.

We'll put up some pictures of the new house later
this week. We still have to finish up a few things
before I'll be willing to take pictures.

A Surprise Visit!

Adam, Dad, Jake, and I somehow managed to keep a fairly large secret for about 2 months and surprised my mom by showing up in her kitchen 2 weeks ago. It was a blast to go hang out with them for a full 2 weeks. We had lots of fun relaxing and taking in some new sites. We even got to go on a White House tour this time, which was very cool. But you can't take any cameras on the grounds, so there aren't any pictures.

We finally got to visit the DC Temple and do a session together.
It was fun... and beautiful as always.

We always get to have fun with Tex. Here he is wearing Adam's hat.

We visited the National Zoo. Some animals were still
put away for winter, but it was still fun!

We took one afternoon and drove to Fredericksburg to see the sites.
This is an old house at Chatham that became a major headquarters
for Union soldiers in the Civil War.
I would LOVE a house like that!

Here is Adam outside the Rising Sun Tavern, a place our
Founding Fathers are said to have frequented on many occasions.

Mom, Dad, and Jake went with us on a day trip to Monticello
to see the beautiful house of Thomas Jefferson.

Here is Jake doing a jig in the gift shop.

Operation Impending Doom I - Timeline Amendment

Well, we had our ultrasound yesterday. First piece of news they gave us was that I am actually only 18 and a half weeks along, rather than the wonderful half-way mark of 20 weeks. It's all good, although I do suddenly feel less accomplished, as though I just lost 2 weeks in some big project. That's alright. We figure this way we won't be as upset in the long run when the baby gets here a couple weeks later than we originally thought. Anyway, the new due date is September 13.
Then on to the fun news. After repeatedly trying to give us an idea of gender, the sonographer was about to give up. Turns out this child likes to play games and move around just enough to block off any good views (a sign of what's to come?). But finally, doing a last just-in-case look, the sonographer told us that we were definitely having a little girl. She is doing well. Everything looked great in the ultrasound, and that makes us very happy. She did have an irregular heartbeat, but we'll just have to keep an eye on it. Here is a lovely shot of her in all her black and white glory.

Operation Impending Doom I

As of March 23rd - about 17 weeks along

I bought my first pair of prego jeans last week, and they really do let the belly hang out. It's kind of scary and surreal, but fun at the same time... plus my regular jeans were starting to hurt me sometimes. Yay. Keep in mind, this is after a big meal, and in a tight shirt... so normally, I probably don't look this big to everyone else.

Our Christmas Trip to DC!!!

These pics are actualy in backwards order, but oh well.
We're saying bye to Tex here.

Adam and Tex grew quite close and already miss each other greatly.

Me and Jake... He's so huge now!

These two goofs had matching sweaters and everything.

This was an awkward moment for all of us... hahaha.

Sara came back with Jensen to see us the last week or so there!

Tank sending us goodbye kisses.
Adam's new cool-guy glasses for his 23rd birthday!!!

He got home made ice cream cake with hot fudge sauce... yummy!

He and Tex were nap buddies all through the vacation.

Me and the mommy... or grandmommy.

Me and Padre, with Jensen.

Jake and Izzy napping on the couch.

Adam's pretty birthday presents... I hadn't noticed until now that he is pretty much pulling the same face as Chris Farley on the TV in the background.

Me and Izzy with Dad and Jensen... they're such cute kids.

Adam with the adorable Isabella.

Adam got an Office birthday card from the fam that was pretty awesome.

Adam reading the inscriptions at the Lincoln memorial.

Adam and Mt. Vernon

Representing for George "W".

Adam and talking and waving to his mom and dad at Mt Vernon.

We got to visit the cemetery... it was intense, but really neat.

Adam with the puffy shirt from Seinfeld, as well as Mr. Roger's sweater.

We got to go to the top of the Washington Monument. This is the view of the Capitol from way up top.

We decided to pose at the new WWII memorial.

Siting outside the Lincoln.

Adam resting by the reflecting pool, with a cool view of the Washington.

The girls got matching pajamas on Christmas Eve.

And so did the boys!

Another view of the Capitol.

Adam at the Air and Space museum.

Adam was in charge of the dough for the sugar cookies.

Max loved chocolate covered pretzels... even if they're hard to eat.

Jake, Eph, and Mom with the dogs... why they were just sitting on the kitchen floor, I do not know. But I thought it made for a fun picture.
