Sleeping Habits...

5 Weeks Old
Ellie doesn't like to stay still. We always start her out
at the bottom of the bassinette, but as she wakes up, she
pushes all the up to the top of the bed and gets out of
all the blanket that has been tightly tucked around her.
She's a wild one.

For some reason, any time she falls asleep with Adam,
she ends up in crazy, sprawled positions.
Here she is, apparently passed out from that
bottle by her head.

This is her sleeping on his forearm. She even rolled
herself to end up this way.

Here she is modeling the adorable hat that her Aunt
Joy made for her this week... finally something small
enough to keep that cute little head warm.

Here is a smile, finally captured on camera...
a little blurry, but cute anyway. She's been smiling
quite a bit lately.

One Month Old!

Ellie is one month old now. She's just as goofy and fussy
as ever, and her expressions are getting cuter and cuter.

She spends a little time in her swing, but definitely gets
boared of things quickly. It's a full-time job keeping her
entertained all day.

She loves to study with her Dad.

She got to wear her new coat to church on Sunday since it
was snowing that morning!

Last time Adam held her up like this, she dropped some nice
slobber right into his mouth. He got lucky this time...

Smiles

Toward the second half of this video, you can see the first in
a series of many smiles that Ellie gave us last night. You still have
to work a little to get it out of her, but she'll do it if she's in the
right mood, and it is very much worth the effort! Hard
to believe she's almost 4 weeks old already!

The First Week

Ellie has made it through her first week! She's very entertaining,
and we love having her. We also owe a ton of thanks to
Grandma and Grandpa for helping us get so well situated.

We had fun going on a picnic today down in Spanish Fork Canyon.
Ellie ate and slept for most of it, but we had a good time.
Everyone was enjoying climbing the rocks and just hanging
out together.

I had fun learning how to be a mom -- sitting back and watching
the festivities...

We did have a fun blow-out experience. But as Grandpa says,
many hands make for light work.

Grandma helped Ellie do some tummy time.

When Ellie falls asleep, she really falls asleep. This is how
she decided to lounge on my lap yesterday.

She also loves to cuddle. This is her spending time with her Daddy.

We also went up Provo canyon yesterday while Adam
went for a run.

She seems to enjoy sleeping in her carseat. She was knocked
out for a while after her doctor's appointment that upset her
greatly. It's hard to have people poke and prod at you.

Baby Shower

My lovely sisters-in-law decided to throw me a baby
shower on Saturday, which was very fun. My friends
at work also held one for me on my last day, but I still
have to email someone to get those pics. Oops... I'll do that
as soon as I finish this!

I had a blast with everyone who was able to come!
Thanks much to Joy, Cathy, Ilene, Courtney, Kari, and Pam!

Ilene and I finally took some pictures to compare
bellies. This was also on Saturday, so we were both
right about 37 weeks. Only 3 or so more to go! YAY!

I Love to Recline....

We must first start this blog by giving a nice, BIG
THANK YOU to Mom and Pop Roggia for
the wonderful new recliner! There is finally
a means of relaxation and refuge during these
last rib-crushing weeks of pregnancy!

As evidenced below, this was a month of significant
growth and expansion. I didn't realize how huge I
look now until I downloaded these pictures!
Here's me at 35 weeks.

Here are a couple quick shots of our living room, for
Momma G. Some of our walls still look a little bare,
but it's a nice space. We just haven't really decided on the
best place to keep the new chair yet.

I made scones for the first time... and they were quite
delicious and satisfying. Brought back memories from home.
I think scones were one of my favorite things for dinner...
probably because of the yummy sweet toppings I always
use on them.

A quite shot of the office/baby's room. I've since put the
bedding on the crib... and the room is a little cleaner now,
but I guess this will do for now. And you can see the
stroller we got our awesome deal on... yay craigslist!
