I thought I had this all set to put the pics up in chronological order, but it didn't work out that way. Sorry. I am too lazy to fix it... and too overdue for an update of sorts.
We had a couple of trips with hotel stays the last 2 months, and the kids got to have their first experiences with real pools. Sad, I know. But we just have never been willing to pay the money for these local ones yet. Someday it will be a regular thing.
They were a little shy about the water, but had a lot of fun anyway. This first trip was to Lexington, VA for a job interview... which Adam has since accepted an offer from. We move in May! Exciting-but soon!
Crazy Seth is 19--almost 20--months old now. And is just that... crazy.
As usual, when Daddy is around, the kids are usually on top of him.
On one of his days off, we visited Sunken Road in Fredericksburg (A Civil War battle site).
Ellie is walking around the foundation of a home that was used to care for injured soldiers.
This house was next door, and still has bullet holes in many places.
Cool statue for a Confederate soldier who risked his life repeatedly in the field, trying to care for injured Union soldiers along his path. Such a crazy war... fighting brothers and neighbors. His was a neat story.
Ellie and I enjoying the view.
Daddy explaining how the big guns worked.
Seth finally woke up towards the end of our walk.
An old pre-war cemetery that was used for coverage during the battles. That big mark on the left pillar is still there from getting hit by a cannon ball in all the action. Many headstones were cracked and broken as well. It was a cool history day for us.
Hotel trip #2 -- Columbia, SC for Adam's marathon.
Ellie got braver and let Daddy take her farther into the water. Yay for getting off the steps!
Waiting for the race to start... it was cold and WINDY!
Adam looked good all the times we got to see him!
He did an awesome job and won his age group!
Ellie enjoyed helping feed Daddy and share his post-race snacks.
Seth, of course, slept through the finish.
Uncle Jake was here for a visit... and Seth loved his GIANT shoes.
If there is water to play in anywhere around the house, Seth will find it.
Silly girl.
A tree fell out back, far from the house, luckily.
Awkward faces, but funny.
One of the tiny snowfalls we had this winter. I was grateful for the mild weather... Ellie was a little disappointed.
More Tebow time... trying to be optimistic about the situation change with that.
Ellie got a princess umbrella... and LOVES when it rains now!
We normally don't keep chairs around our table throughout the day anymore... Seth is too destructive and has been granted restricted access.
Sunday reading time with Daddy.
Showing off her pretty horsey sweater.
Don't remember the occasion... but we had yummy cupcakes!
We also said goodbye to our trusty Volvo this month. A little sad at first, but we had to have a bigger backseat and such for the coming addition to our family. And I feel better now that I have its replacement. I'll take a picture soon.
Pirate face. Weirdo.
Pa sent Ellie fresh flowers on Valentine's Day. She thought it was sooo cool!
Adam on a long training run with our friend, Keith. The kids and I did water stops every 4 miles.
Time for another haircut... like... for real!
First time with real clippers... and Daddy did the honors.
Much better! Handsome boy!
G-Mom's turn for wrestling.
The reason I have hydration problems--- this kid always steals my water bottles.
Nature walk with dad after a nice outdoor run.
They were both good and slept through most the run... yay!
