Ellie's race, Easter, etc.

Ellie told me she wanted a picture in her pretty new green dress a couple of weeks ago. She also said she wanted her hands to be in her lap just like that. Funny girl.

Seth quickly takes right back to Pa whenever he gets to visit from Mexico. He sat on his lap eating Chex Mix for quite a while that night watching none other than NCAA basketball. Yay, March Madness.

Dishes are one of Ellie's favorite jobs to help with.

Seth loves stacking and building, and has gotten quite good.

He also loves to spread all the Tupperware all over the kitchen floor while I try to cook.

We have been outside a ton with all the nice weather. A favorite activity: putting rocks into buckets. It's the simple things in life.

We also love playing out tree stump bongos.

And looking for "butterfly prints" with our magnifying glass.

 Love my crazy boy.

He is getting very skillful on the trampoline.
 He has the best teacher.

 Climbing, another favorite pastime.

This is what it looks like when you don't let Seth steal Ellie's juice after chugging his own all too quickly.

 Ellie picks flowers EVERY DAY.

She liked how her hair was flying in her slide pictures.

This past Saturday, Ellie ran her first real race! She was so excited to put her number on!

Adam said our competitive little girl would not let anyone stand in front of her at the start line. (She later told us that those kids needed to "move their bums".... yikes, Ellie!). She tells us ALL THE TIME how she is fastest and makes us race her around the house every day. She did great and ran strong the whole time with Daddy. He said she was pulling him right along.

And apparently, upon crossing the finish line, all she could think about was getting her medal and refused to say hi to the Easter Bunny, or anyone else for that matter. The competitive gene is strong in her.

She didn't want to pose, but she was cute anyway!

Adam finished 2nd overall in the 5k earlier that morning and won a "medium" ham, as well as a little Easter basket of goodies. Yay!

After the race, the kids tried to wait patiently for the Easter Egg Hunt to start.

They let the young ones go out first, but when said heard the word "Go", he just took off running across the field... forget the eggs... he wanted to run!

But G-Mom caught him and showed him the deal.

Cute man.

Ellie was proud of her stash.

That night, I came up from an evening treadmill run to find these two lounged out, watching Harry and the Hendersons... he had Ellie pretty into it.

While we waited for foods to bake and such on Easter afternoon, it ended up being nap time.

For the little man too.

Then finally everyone was awake enough for the Easter Bunny to leave us eggs and baskets.

Seth got the hang of it much quicker this time.

Ellie found their special baskets hidden in the tree-house. Hers had lots of pretty pink things: sparkly nail polish, stuffed bunny, bubbles, a new cup, and even a DVD of Swan Princess (she watches the vhs in our basement all the time).

Seth just stared at Lightning McQueen for a while. He loves when he can recognize characters. He a ball, new bibs, bubbles, a new cup, etc.

Cute kids.

Seth LOVES letters.... so this is one of his favorite toys now.
